The game is set to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam this November, with physical console releases planned for 2021. Sword of the Necromancer ran a Kickstarter campaign earlier this year, raising more than €200,000 for the project. The game features a system where you can revive defeated enemies to fight alongside you as well as a local two-player co-operative mode.


The player will then restart from the beginning with no equipment, but having maintained half their current level. In Sword of the Necromancer you play as Tama, who hopes to revive Koko by finding the titular sword. The game is roguelike in structure, meaning the player will progress through the dungeon until they are felled by monsters. Sword of the Necromancer is a 'dungeon-crawler action RPG with roguelike elements' that will be showcased at Gamescom though the Indie Arena Booth Online from August 27 to August 30. The Indie Arena Booth Online is a virtual booth area where anyone can check out virtual game booths for indie games in their browser.
